PANDEMIC or not, Santa still visited west Dorset towns this year to raise money for local causes. The Brit Valley Rotary Club s annual festive fundraiser, which includes Santa visiting the towns and villages around Bridport in the lead up to Christmas, went ahead this year with social distancing measures in place. Santa and his sleigh travelled all through Bridport and visited Burton Bradstock, West Bay, Skilling, Beaminster and Bradpole. The Helping Santa initiative is one of the rotary club s main fundraising events of the year. Social distancing measures were in place on each occasion Santa paid a visit to a town. Santa was unable to stop and chat or accept letters - instead travelling slowly past as many homes as possible, smiling and waving at members of the public.
