A man charged with murder in the shooting death of a 9-year-old Bridgeton girl has been indicted on charges that he tried to get witnesses to recant their claims that he was involved in the crime.
Michael L. Elliott, 28, of Bridgeton, was charged along with three others for allegedly firing on a group of people gathered in front of an Elmer Street home around 12:30 a.m. on July 17, 2018.
Bullets fired into N.J. house, week after boy hit by stray gunfire

Police are investigating after another Bridgeton home was riddled with gunfire over the weekend.
Officers responded to the 100 block of South Pine Street shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday and found several bullet holes in the front door and ceiling of a home.
The house was occupied at the time, but no injuries were reported.
Investigators recovered 10 spent 9mm casings in a driveway across the street.
This is the latest in a serious of recent shootings.
A 14-year-old boy was struck in the ankle in a Dec. 4 drive-by shooting on Elmer Street that occurred in broad daylight.
