The Police Commission is discussing the search for a new police chief. Youll remember the mayor fired Lauren Armstrong back in february for mishandling to officer misconduct cases. Well, this meeting underway for just about an hour now and this meeting really just an opportunity for the public to weigh in on who they would like to see, take the helm of the Oakland Police department. But i can tell you, just based on people that ive spoken to, people making Public Comments so far, that this crowd seems to be largely behind the former chief, Lauren Armstrong.
