COCHRANE Charges have been withdrawn against four individuals who were accused last summer of defrauding two local Catholic churches of $200,000.
Charges were laid by the Ontario Provincial Police in July following an investigation in which a series of unauthorized transactions was alleged to have occurred over several years involving the accounts from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kapuskasing and Transfiguration Parish in Cochrane.

Charges were subsequently laid against Remi Lessard and Helene Gauthier, both of Cochrane, Herve Sauve from Chapleau Township and Elizabeth McInnis from Kapuskasing.
