UPDATE (5/31/24, 1:30am) the line of showers and thunderstorms continues to weaken while moving east. While some light rain and thunder may continue for the next few hours, the threat for severe weather has ended in the Metro Area. The SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH will expire at 2am Friday.
Tonight & Tomorrow: Thunderstorm activity will calm down in the overnight hours and thanks to the rain-cooled air from the earlier t-storms, we should experience a much better night with temps cooling a bit quicker. No rain is expected overnight as temperatures settle into the upper 70s and near 80 degrees. On Sunday, it will be another rinse and repeat scenario with the heat as high temperatures will once again run into the upper 90s and coupled with the humidity will cause feels-like temperatures to reach above 107 degrees. A slight chance of rain exist in the forecast, around 30% and we are also in the marginal category for severe t-storms again on Sunday.

A TORNADO WATCH has been issued for parishes and counties north of I-10 until 10pm tonight. A TORNADO WATCH means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and/or damaging winds in and around the watch area. Be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. If a tornado warning is issued, seek shelter in a low-level, interior room of a sturdy building. Take pets (on a leash) with you, have on hard-soled shoes, monitor storm coverage on a wireless device and cover your head in the event of wind or tornado impact. BATON ROUGE- Multiple cases, including some high-profile ones that were litigated already, may end up with plea deals.
Last year, the Supreme Court ruled that jury verdicts must be unanimous to convict someone of a serious crime. Among one of the cases that s now going back through the courts is Jace Crehan s case.
Crehan was convicted in 2017 in the killing of Robert Noce. Noce molested Crehan s girlfriend Brittany Monk and was given probation two weeks before he was killed. The jury that convicted Crehan voted 11 to 1 to convict.
