Missoula County Health Officer Ellen Leahy to Step Down in June

Missoula County Health Officer Ellen Leahy to Step Down in June After over 30 years serving the Missoula City County Health Department, Health Officer Ellen Leahy announced that she would be stepping down in June. Leahy told KGVO News that she had determined to announce her retirement last spring, but that’s when all hell broke loose with the COVID pandemic. “I delayed my initial plan because as soon as I landed on it the pandemic hit, so I thought this is a good time to stick around,” said Leahy. “So sticking around for that, of course, and getting through what should be one of the more challenging periods with this great team we have here, but the board is actively recruiting so that when they hire someone, I ll have some time to work with them. So it ll be the summer.”
