DRIVE: A new group is pushing for more eco housing in Kendal Calls for more eco housing have been made by a new group in Kendal. Beki Winter, Kendal Community Land Trust founder, believes that all towns should have better homes to adapt to our changing world. She said: “My vision is to create affordable, ultra-low carbon homes with shared outdoor spaces and rooms that exceed the national space standards in the Kendal area. These homes would not be subject to the right to buy scheme so would stay affordable in perpetuity.” Ms Winter has approached Kendal Town Council and South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) to use money SLDC has earmarked for such initiatives.
Applications registered for the Lake District National Park Authority from January 11, to January 17.
