The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has raised an alarm over the continuous importation and use of pesticides banned in Europe in Nigeria. NAFDAC said that there will be ban, phase out and reclassification of the pesticides as dangers they pose in Nigeria have become of immense concern to the agency and there have been recent concerns from stakeholders such as the report of the study conducted by a non-governmental organisation, Heinrich Boll Foundation, which claimed that 40% of pesticides used in Nigeria had been banned in the EU.
