Around 70 people were rescued by the Border Roads Organization after heavy snowfall hit the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. The BRO conducted a rescue operation to evacuate tourists and locals stranded at the Sela Pass.
Heavy snowfall in Sikkim has blocked roads causing disruption of socio-economic activities. BRO restored connectivity for armed forces via Donkyala pass post devastating flash floods with the help of 758 BRTF under Project Swastik, despite harsh weather conditions.
"Troops of Trishakti Corps braving sub-zero temperatures rushed to rescue and assisted the stranded tourists. Prompt Medicare, hot refreshments, meals and safe transportation were rendered in a timely to assist the tourists reach safety," said the army.
