Five seal pups may not have realized it, but Oct. 21 was to be their last morning in the Wolf Hollow rehabilitation pools. Skipper, Marble, Arctic, Nymph and West Coast Lady had gained enough weight and showed they could hunt and feed for themselves, and it was now time for them to begin their new lives in the wild.
Sun and calm waters made for the perfect day for the third annual witchs’ paddle. Approximately 30 dressed in hats and capes, and accompanied by pumpkins and dogs met at Shipyard Cove Saturday, Oct. 28 and paddled to the Spring Streed dock. Many paddledboarded but some kayaked, canoed, others rowed, and at least one sailed.
