Duluth Man Charged With Second-Degree Murder in Death of 3-Year-Old

DULUTH, Minn.-A 30-year-old Duluth man was charged today with second-degree murder in the death of his then fiance’s three-year-old son, marking the first homicide in Duluth in 2020.
Jordan William Carter was taken into custody Thursday for an incident that occurred Sept. 4.
According to the criminal complaint, the medical examiner’s office has ruled the death of Cameron Gordon, who was 3.5 years-old at the time, a homicide by blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
On Sep. 4, at 5:35 p.m., Heather Bouchard, the mother of the child, called 911 crying that her son was unresponsive and possibly not breathing.

Formal charges against the man are pending.

A 30-year-old Duluth man has been arrested in connection to the death of a 3-year-old child.
In a news release, the Duluth Police Department says they took the 30-year-old man into custody on Thursday, Dec. 17. He is awaiting formal charges by the St. Louis County Attorney s Office.
The arrest came a few days after the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office ruled the child s death a homicide.
According to the release, Duluth police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive child on the 4700 block of East Colorado Street at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 4.

nd-degree murder after the Medical Examiner’s Office officially ruled 3-and-a-half-year-old Cameron Gordon’s September death a homicide on Dec. 15.
Investigators say the child was in the care of Carter at the time of injury.
Duluth police were called to a home around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 4 on the 4700 block of E. Colorado Street for an unresponsive child, according to a news release.
The child’s injuries were so severe he was transported to Children’s Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis where he was later pronounced dead Sept. 6, according to police.
