Magyar Nemzet, the renowned neuro surgeon András Csókay, in an open letter to the chairman of the Hungarian Chamber of Doctors, calls for those GPs who, to his knowledge, discourage their patients from taking the Chinese coronavirus vaccine, to face ethical proceedings.
Csókay dismisses doubts about the safety and efficacy of the Chinese jab. Doctors who discourage patients, he maintains, violate medical ethics in order to undermine the Orbán government’s efforts to keep the epidemic at bay.

Hungary is altering its vaccination plan. Instead of ensuring that those who are inoculated once receive their second dose as soon as possible, the vaccination plan will now focus on ensuring that as many people as possible receive their first shot.
This will lead to a greater number of people being vaccinated, but could prove risky given the minimal information on the duration of vaccine protection.
The government is determined that the type of vaccine does not matter, and that preference will only slow down the process of achieving mass inoculation.

Hungary to Buy 5 m Doses of Chinese Sinopharm Vaccine
Hungary has contracted five million doses of the coronavirus vaccine produced by Chinese company Sinopharm, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Friday.
Szijjártó said on Facebook he had signed an agreement to purchase the vaccine, enough to inoculate 2.5 million people, on Friday after talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Sinopharm will deliver the vaccine in four phases, over a period of four months, he said.
