Odisha s health department has issued a standard operating procedure (SoP) for hospitals to manage heat-related emergencies due to soaring temperatures. The SoP includes opening control rooms, readying rapid response teams, and setting up heat-stroke rooms with air-conditioners and coolers. ORS corners will be established, and medical colleges instructed to prepare for increased cases. Awareness campaigns will be conducted, and investigations will be carried out in case of heat-related deaths. Hospitals have been asked to prepare action plans to reduce mortalities from heat stress disorders.
