Two women from Rochdale have run 48 miles in 48 hours, raising over £1,200 for Healthy Young Minds at Birch Hill Hospital.
Louise Whittaker, a supported families worker, and her friend Jemma Dransfield, a dance teacher, completed the 4x4x48 challenge, created by retired Navy Seal and ultrarunner David Goggins – running four miles every four hours in 48 hours (4x4x48) – over the first weekend of May.
The school s Early Years team said they thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to dress up and make children smile.
Feeling Good Week was started by Healthy Young Minds in Herts. A statement on their website said: 2020 has been a challenging year for many people, and we know children and young people have had to manage a lot of changes, both in terms of their day-to-day life and their school life. This year, we would love to see ideas that allow children and young people to consider the different aspects of their wellbeing, and what tools they can use to support good mental health and emotional wellbeing.
THE Lancashire and South Cumbria Healthy Young Minds website (www.healthyyoungmindslsc.co.uk) contains a wealth of information and resources to boost and support the resilience, emotional wellbeing and mental health of local children and young people. It has been developed with children and young people, their families, and professionals to make it as easy as possible for them to access advice, help and support quickly, whenever they need it. The site is for young people and anyone who comes into contact with them – so can include scout leaders, community support officers, librarians, teachers, and sports coaches. It features information on a range of topics and in a range of formats, from self-help suggestions, videos, apps, links to other sites and organisations such as Young Minds, The Mix, Papyrus and Togetherall.

The Stevenage Young People s Healthy Hub is highlighting the mental health support available during Children s Mental Health Week.
The awareness week, which runs from today until Sunday, was first launched by Place2Be in 2015 and aims to shine a spotlight on the issue. This year s theme is Express Yourself .
The online Young People’s Healthy Hub focuses on providing specific advice to young people, aged between 11 to 16, during this difficult time.
It is working with Mind in Mid Herts to offer free one-to-one counselling sessions virtually. The sessions will begin tomorrow, and will allow young people to seek the tailored help and advice for mental health related concerns from a trained counsellor.
