This time of year, many cities and nonprofits encourage "healthy giving" to help unsheltered people.“What it means is just thinking more holistically about how we give and serve men and women that are experiencing homelessness,” said Jerome Parker, community pastor with First Christian Church in Phoenix and member of the Healthy Giving Council.
The Phoenix city manager’s task force to address strategies on homelessness presented its recommendations to council members Wednesday. Several priorities and strategies were highlighted, including the desire to see more shelters in more neighborhoods.
