New VC fund focused on health tech aims to raise $100M

David Vreeland A new venture capital fund based in Williamson County is aiming to raise $100 million to invest in health technology companies. The firm is called Caduceus Capital Partners and is being led by David Vreeland and Scott Kolesar. Both are leaders at Nashville-based venture capital fund Jumpstart Capital. Vreeland said Caduceus has essentially the same DNA as Jumpstart Capital and the same leadership team but it’s a new brand and is not owned by Jumpstart Capital parent company Briovation. Vreeland was a co-founder of Franklin-based health care IT specialists Cumberland Consulting Group and will continue to serve as the managing director of Jumpstart Capital. Kolesar served in health care leadership roles at Ernst & Young and Deloitte Consulting before joining Jumpstart in 2019.
