East carson city, just before 8 oclock last night. Deputies say the vehicle involved in the hit and run was spotted at a gas station on College Parkway, Near Research way. When officers approached the suspect vehicle, described as a ford pickup the man reportedly rammed the police suv and fled eastbound on College Parkway leading deputies on a high speed chase. The man reportedly lost control of the pickup and crashed at the carson city airport. Deputies say the man died after the pickup thrown from the vehicle. Washoe County District attorney, chris hicks, said the 2014 officer involved shooting of James Luke Bowman was justified. According to reports bowman had an outstanding warrant from the Us Marshals Office when police encountered him near the intersection of fourth and spokane 2 years ago. Hands up, but bowman unleashed a string of profanities and pulled a gun from his waistband. Thats when he was shot. The da says the killing was justified because protecting their own lives. Th
