A probe was ordered in Assam s Silchar after it was found that people who were not registered with the CoWin app where getting vaccinated at a centre which is not included in the government-approved list of vaccination sites.

The Cachar district authorities of Assam on Wednesday ordered an investigation after a media report claimed that people were inoculated against Covid-19 by a section of the health department employees in an unauthorised vaccination centre here.

GUWAHATI: At the time when most of the people in the country are deprived of COVID-19 vaccine either because of shortage of vaccine or unavailability of slots on the portal, reports are, coming from the Cachar district wherein people have allegedly been vaccinated without registration at unlisted centres.
According to reports, people were inoculated against Covid-19 by a section of the health department employees in an unauthorised vaccination centre.
Double mutant strain detected in patients who tested COVID positive at Dibrugarh airport
Recent samples of passengers taken at the airport are positive for B.1.617 strain or the Indian double mutant (L452R and E484Q) strain of SARS-COV-2, minsiter Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.
