Outgoing battalion commander has second to none time | Military Scene

With her fourth generation of military service, Lt. Col. Andi Tallman joined the Army to continue a family tradition. She said she still loves putting on the uniform every day. On Friday morning she will relinquish command of the 2nd Medical Recruiting Battalion to Lt. Col. Brad Tibbetts, from Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. Tallman has served as the battalion commander since June 2019. “It’s bittersweet,” she said. “Commanding in a COVID environment was very unique and I will truly miss my battalion. My Soldiers and civilians here are excellent. Second to none.” The motto of the battalion, nicknamed the Gladiators, is “Strength and Honor, Second to None.”
