There are 5 cases of Covid-19 in managed isolation, one of which is historical.

The results of genomic sequencing for the first 2 Auckland February cases have confirmed the Covid-19 variant B1.1.7, first detected in the UK.
ESR is now conducting a scan of the international genome database to see if there is a match.
This result reinforces the decision to take swift and robust action around the latest cases to detect and stamp out the possibility of any further transmission.

The daughter goes to Papatoetoe High School which will be closed tomorrow and Tuesday. Two of the confirmed cases visited various locations in New Plymouth on February 6-7. It s unclear if they were infectious when they visited. They also visited Pak N Save Manukau on Friday February 12 for about 15 minutes, sometime between 3.45pm and 5pm.
Health authorities are gathering more information about the three new community Covid-19 cases in South Auckland reported today - a mother, father and daughter from Papatoetoe.

Anyone who visited a dozen new locations of interest - including supermarkets, restaurants and retail stores - in Auckland, is being urged to get a Covid test as soon as possible.
The information comes after the Ministry of Health made a late-night announcement confirming two more people who had been in managed isolation at the Pullman Auckland hotel have tested positive for Covid-19.
