Panaji, May 28 : Twelve days after filing a First Information Report (FIR) against Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane in connection with deaths of Covid patients earlier this month due to oxygen shortage, state Congress president Girish Chodankar on Friday appealed to the North Goa District SP for registration of the FIR.
In his complaint filed before SP (North Goa) Utkrisht Bansal, Chodankar has alleged that nearly 400 persons have died due to oxygen shortage, on account of negligence and mismanagement on part of the state administration over the last few weeks.

This complaint reflects the pain and the anguish of all Goans, who have been completely failed and let down by the present state government on account of their sheer incompetence; criminal negligence; mismanagement and complete disregard to the lives of the peoples in handling the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the complaint filed by state Congress chief Girish Chodankar at the Agacaim police station said.

North Goa (Goa) [India], May 17 (ANI): The Congress on Monday filed a police complaint against Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Viswajit Rane, claiming that their sheer incompetence, mismanagement and criminal negligence led to the deaths of hundreds of COVID patients due to oxygen shortage .
In the complaint filed at Agacaim police station, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar stated that Sawant and Rane are solely responsible for the death of hundreds of people in Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) since April 2021 till date due to lack of oxygen. Thereby they have committed the offences under section 302, 304, 337, 338 read with 34, of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, Chodankar said.
