Covid-19 vaccination begins in Dom Rep
Santo Domingo, Feb 16 (Prensa Latina) Dominican Republic began on Tuesday immunization against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, with doses of AstraZeneca s vaccine, manufactured in India. Immunization began at the Ramon de Lara military hospital, in Santo Domingo, where Covid-19 was detected in the country. The patients suffering from the disease are admitted there. President Luis Abinader, Vice President Raquel Peña and Health Minister Plutarco Arias were present in the vaccination act. Plutarco, with support of the hospital s nursing staff, administered the first vaccines.
Addressing the activity, Abinader said this nightmare is beginning to end and thanked support by the hospital s medical staff and the entire country, where many people have died of the disease.
