KUWAIT CITY, June 9: National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim has started his two-day visit to Geneva where he is scheduled to meet with International Parliamentary Union (IPU) Chairman Duarte Pacheco. As the representative of Arab parliaments, Al- Ghanim will discuss the recent Israeli attacks on Palestinians in Jerusalem and other parts of Palestine. Deputy Speaker MP Ahmed Al Shuhoumi, Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Mubarak Al-Harees and Secretary General of the Assembly Adel Al-Lugani sent off the speaker at Kuwait International Airport. Prior to the meeting with Pacheco, Arab Inter- Parliamentary Union Chairman Saqr Ghobash assigned Al-Ghanim to represent the Arab geopolitical group. Govt hiring 9,675 teachers, medics
THE government yesterday announced 10,675 employment opportunities for primary and secondary school teachers and health workers.
Addressing a press conference here yesterday, the Minister of State in the President’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Governments), Ummy Mwalimu said the ministry has obtained an employment permit from within the President’s Office (Public Service Management and Good Governance).
Of the total, 2,726 job openings are for health attendants in municipal, district hospitals and health centres, she said, noting that fairness in the recruitment process will be observed.
The remaining 6,949 employment slots are for primary and secondary schools’ teachers, she said, cautioning applicants over conmen seeking the paying of bribes to pursue a promise of job placement. Those who come into such situation should inform the minister personally for proper measures to be pursued
