Clara county supervisor cindy chavez has just conceded the race for san jose mayor, meaning City Council Member matt mahan is poised to become mayor of the largest city in the bay area. Chavez saying in a statement this morning, quote, thank you, everyone for all youve done to assist my campaign for san jose mayor over the past year that we were not victorious. Our message will carry on and live within the work i take on over the next 2 years as your county supervisor and quote. But at last check, chavez earned 117,000 votes.
