COVID-19 infection rate crosses 15pc mark in Rangpur 126 RANGPUR, May 20, 2021 (BSS) – The daily coronavirus (COVID-19) infection rate continues rising again and crossed the 15 percent mark in Rangpur division during the past four consecutive days. Health officials said the number of COVID-19 cases rose to 18,470 as 59 more patients were reported positive after testing 362 samples on Wednesday. “Earlier, daily infection rates were 15.79 percent on Tuesday, 17.95 percent on Monday and 19.66 percent on Sunday in the division,” Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for Rangpur division Dr ZA Siddiqui told BSS today. The daily infection rate crossed the 10 percent mark on March 24 last for the first time since December 26 last year in the division after remaining below the five percent mark for over a month previously and again crossed the 10 percent mark on May 8 last.

3,58,507 get second dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Rangpur 153 RANGPUR, May 20, 2021 (BSS) – The number of citizens who got the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine reached 3,58,507 as 6,845 more people were inoculated with the jab today in Rangpur division. Health officials said the 6,845 citizens, who were inoculated with the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today, include 4,124 male and 2,721 female, of all eight districts in the division. “The total of 3,58,507 second dose recipient citizens, including 2,29,574 male and 1,28,933 female, previously got the first dose at least two months ago,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Ahad Ali told BSS. The district-wise break-up of the second dose recipient 3,58,507 citizens stands at 76,992 in Rangpur, 29,584 in Panchagarh, 47,673 in Nilphamari, 26,428 in Lalmonirhat, 30,723 in Kurigram, 36,503 in Thakurgaon, 74,807 in Dinajpur and 35,797 in Gaibandha.

COVID-19 deaths reach 368 in Rangpur division 123 RANGPUR, May 14, 2021 (BSS) – The coronavirus (COVID-19) related death toll reached 368 in Rangpur division where three more infected patients died in Rangpur and Dinajpur during the last 24 hours ending at 9 am today. “A total of 48 infected patients died from April 10 to May 13, the highest number of deaths in last 34 days, in the division since the outbreak of the pandemic,” said Focal Person of the COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui. The district-wise break up of the 368 fatalities stands at 86 in Rangpur, 136 in Dinajpur, 38 in Thakurgaon, 35 in Nilphamari, 19 in Kurigram, 20 in Panchagarh, 21 in Gaibandha and 13 in Lalmonirhat districts of the division.

3,22,726 get second dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Rangpur 238 RANGPUR, May 12, 2021 (BSS) – The number of citizens who got the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine rose to 3,22,726 as 4,559 more people were inoculated with the jab today in Rangpur division. Health officials said the 4,559 citizens, who were inoculated with the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today, include 2,734 male and 1,825 female, of all eight districts in the division. “The total of 3,22,726 second dose recipient citizens, including 2,07,889 male and 1,14,837 female, previously got the first dose at least two months ago,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Ahad Ali told BSS. The district-wise break-up of the second dose recipient 3,22,726 citizens stands at 64,246 in Rangpur, 27,586 in Panchagarh, 43,803 in Nilphamari, 24,578 in Lalmonirhat, 27,373 in Kurigram, 34,196 in Thakurgaon, 69,833 in Dinajpur and 31,111 in Gaibandha.
