Covid France: Delta variant update for June 6 as new cases confirmed
There were at least 29 new cases of the ‘Indian’ variant this week, especially in Landes, but the health minister said he does not see the spread as ‘an extension of the epidemic’

The ‘Indian’ variant of Covid-19, now known as the ‘Delta’ variant, is continuing to spread in the southwest of France, with 29 new cases confirmed since Wednesday this week.
These extra cases were identified by the regional health agency l’Agence Regionale de Sante (ARS) since June 2, on which date it was also announced that there had been two cases in one family in the Landes department.

France is on high pollen alert for the next few days, with grass pollen allergies expected to be particularly severe throughout early June.
All departments are either on red (highest) or orange (second-highest) alert, with the southeast of the country especially affected, air quality network le Réseau National de Surveillance Aérobiologique (RNSA) said.
