Marshall Memo: Moundsville Parks and Recreation Looks Ahead to Busy Year | News, Sports, Jobs

JIM COCHRAN Although COVID-19 played havoc with a number of new sports attractions which the Moundsville Parks and Recreation had hoped to initiate last summer, it hasn’t dulled plans for this year. The major undertaking will be a Splash Pad at the city’s East End Playground. Recreation director John White is engaged in putting together plans for the Splash Pad which will be located on the site of the former children’s pool on the north side of the Four Seasons Pool. It is estimated that the Splash Pad will cost some $510,000. White said that attendance at the Four Seasons Pool during recent months has stayed pretty much the same, although he is hopeful that state requirements dealing with attendance at functions such as swimming pools will be increased in the near future.
