prices, but to me that s a ludicrous economic concept. that would be like telling america, new cars cost too much, we re going to have a stabilization fund so your new car will cost less or food costs too much or any number of things, education, and we re going to subsidize the cost to bring it down, it sort of ignores the fact that our annual budget is $500 billion in debt. i don t know how we re going to pay for all of this new spending. listen to what the president told voters about his health care vision when he was out on the campaign trail. save medicare, medicaid, and social security without cuts. i m not going to cut medicare or medicaid. you can end up with great health care for a fraction of the price. all right, he wants this senate version to have heart, no cuts in medicaid, there are hundreds of billions of dollars, potentially, in cuts that have been included. so is the president keeping his promise? well, i think the thing that we have to examine about
republican perception around. they absolutely will. they will. it s a positive message of helping people. government can help people, not hurt people. obamacare is hurting people. we re going to help people. by spending all of this money? two things nobody buys it anymore. i want to see if you agree. two things republicans have to do to become not a 22% they have to put forward a better health care vision of obamacare. they ve got it. put forth a way that people can make more money in the work place. they have to say we re going to create jobs so salaries rise. not give aways. competition. that is it. if you can do that, you ve got a shot. if you can t going to be 22% this time next year. you do that with opportunities create a parallel universe of growth. that is the republican party s message of helping people, not hurting. thank you. plenty more ahead
aimed at the health care arena. there are a lot of common elements like allowing for the sale of health insurance across state lines, allowing small businesses to pool risk so they get the same discounts the big boys get. makinging health insurance truly transportable by giving the tax vanl to the individual as well as the companies so you are never stuck in a job you hate because you are afraid of losing benefits. lots of that in common. rather than agreeing on one bill it s important for everybody to be in the mindset of i will go out and talk about what i m for in my election in order to gain support among the people of my district or my state. you know as well as i do folks have no idea what the republican party s health care vision is. they don t. you know. because you do it for a living. even i, you know, i have a million things a day. i don t know specifically where the legislation is or who s sponsoring it.
condition. republicans, however, say they agree the old system will not work. the health care system, status quo is unacceptable. as a physician, i can tell you it doesn t work for patients and it doesn t work for doctors. one conservative analyst say republicans should lay out their plans to show them what they should do. they need to be able to talk to health care vision different from the obamacare vision and they need to be able to announce some principles that people can understand and agree with. all the obama administration and the people that supported the president s health care reform did was add more people to a failing system. that s not health care reform. people always rejected the individual mandate in polls but another aspect was consistently and immensely popular, coverage of pre-existing conditions. one poll found that 85% favored that with 12% opposing. republicans had several plans to cover pre-existing conditions. one reason for the mandate was to force
when we come back, new pressure on republicans who promise to repeal the president s health care law and replace it with a log their own. we need to be able to talk about health care vision that is different from the obamacare vision and they need to be able to announce some principles that people can understand. and also agree with. bill: the voice of one prominent conservative than the details of the republicans plan. we will have a fair and balanced debate. martha: new terror arrests are alarming people in london. what is going on there? right before the olympics? what went down, who was arrested and why. bill: also a july 4 celebration ending in tragedy. new details on the investigation into that capsized yacht off of new york that left three young kids dead. it could be a mechanical malfunction, it could be a wake created by another vote. or it was a weather condition last evening that suddenly erupted. those are some of the things we are currently looking at.
