bill through. is that something the president would support. i think that s going to be up to the house and the senate to determine their recesses. they don t we don t get involved in their schedule. i ll let speaker ryan decide what s appropriate in terms of their is the president concerned with the case? if we continue to move forward with health care, the way that we have been told we re going to, i think we re great, we have our priorities, we want to get health care done, tax reform done. and obviously the president has spoken extensively about infrastructure. if we can get those done, i think we ll feel very good about it. h can you get we ll go as quick as congress wants opinion it s a little out of our hands. as soon as congress can do it, we ll do what we can.
need to be made to the aca and get it to work. melissa: i don t know about small fixes. anthem has pulled out entirely. here s what president trump had to say but what they are going to do going forward. we are going to get health care done, we are going to get the tax cuts done. we have the biggest tax cuts and great tax reform. we are going to get it done but sadly we are going to have to do it as republicans because we won t get any democrat votes and that is a very sad, sad thing. melissa: people are sick of hearing stuff like that, the idea that nobody can work together. health care is a very basic thing, i do know that anyone is happy with either plan, why can t both sides come together and work on something that works? and that everybody can take credit. i think that option is there, but the first question is do you want to continue ever-growing
martha: you know what angus king is going to say. but he fired him later because a debt and get the answer he wanted. that is with the other sides will say. murray? marie? this is really bad. take a step back here. martha: we don t know what happened yet. we need the facts. we need to see what the memo. i agree. if i was a betting person, i would put my money on jim comey s recollection and not donald trump s. but here s the problem. every single scandal that comes out, every single one of the stories that the white house might manages, everything on time president trump messes up and doesn t do what, behave the way that he thinks he should, another day they are not getting health care done, they are not getting tax reform done, he s about to go on the first foreign trip, completely overshadowed by a week of terrible stories of his own making. martha: marc thiessen, there was recently a graph that showed what people were interested in.
congressman, i appreciate you keeping your commitment. full disclosure, we booked you a while ago and taught we were going to talk about health care and tax reform. let me start here, how concerned are you that these missteps out of the white house, whether you agree with the policy but how they ve been handled sort of universally getting criticized, how concerned are you that this is going to make your job harder in getting health care done, tax reform done, things like that? well, i mean look, we can do a couple things that i think at the same time. let s hope so. so i think we can move ahead on tax reform and do the things that the american people elected us to do. at the same time, getting to the bottom of what happened in this situation. i think the washington post has said one thing. general mcmaster said it was appropriate. i kind of like what congressman schiff suggested, get a classified briefing and find out. certainly the american people elected us to accomplish certain
things later on in the day. and oftentimes a lot of these tweets are distractions from what congressional leaders are trying to focus on which is like getting health care done, looking ahead at other issues. every single time president trump issues a tweet like he did yesterday which came early in the morning, was then the talk of the town for the rest of the days leaders like paul ryan and mitch mcconnell are then forced to weigh in on it. it must be exhausting for them to be keeping up with this president. also exhausting potentially for the white house staff. dan rather, a name folks know from watching cbs news over the years, he posted on his facebook page about this week that the white house just, had the country just went through. he said i never seen a week where a president of our nation has behaved with such cavalier disregard for norms and
