Sufficient beds, oxygen support, and testing kits available. Government and private hospitals instructed to monitor ILI and SARI cases. Screening and awareness activities at checkposts, railway stations, and bus stations. Genome sequencing reports for confirming JN.1 sub-variant of Covid-19 available in a week. One Covid-19 death reported in the district.

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], June 8 (ANI): PunjabHealth and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Wednesday termed the Central government s order of capping prices of COVID vaccines at private hospitals as hasty and late .
Reacting to the Central government s latest decision to cap the prices of the COVID vaccines, Sidhu said, This decision has been taken at much later stage when private hospitals have already made huge profits in the vaccination process, while BJP leaders raised false allegations against Punjab government of making a profit by supplying the vaccines to private hospitals.
