Minister of Social Affairs and Health
Aino-Kaisa Pekonen (Left) has announced that expanded unemployment benefits due to expire in March will now remain in place until the end of June 2021.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the announcement covers exceptions made to the pre-pandemic benefits system, including the increase in the portion of benefit payments that are unaffected if jobseekers carry out paid work.
Unemployment benefit recipients will continue to be able to earn up to 500 euros a month without it affecting their benefit payments, at least until the newly-extended scheme ends on 30 June.
