storm warning. you re under a hurricane warning if you re headed east. maryland and virginia have already declared emergencies. hurricane irene has been downgraded to a category 2 storm, but that won t likely last long. forecasters say it will likely grow back into a category 3 hurricane later today. this storm is expected to make landfall tomorrow in north carolina. all together, 65 million people in the u.s. could be impacted by irene. and we have live coverage on the preps for hurricane irene. meteorologist tom kierein is tracking the storm. john schriffen is live in ocean city, where evacuations are underway, and megan mcgrath is in fairfax, where rescue crews are on standby. we ll begin with tom kierein. tom, good morning. well, good morning. the latest on irene, it continues to spin off the florida coast and the radar echoes, their really getting more intense. you can see those areas of color, that s where it s raining very hard. those areas of yellow and orange, so
