Moments ago, nbc news learned donald trump posted a bond of over 91 million in the e. Jean carroll case, just days before it was due on monday. Lets get right to msnbc legal analyst Glen Kirschner and our correspondent lisa rubin on the phone. Lisa, first, what do we know, what can you report . This morning, ana, alina habba, one of trumps lawyers, the lead lawyer in the e. Jean carroll case, filed a motion with the court to post a bond in the amount of 91 million and 630,000 as well. That represents the total amount that would be required to obtain a stay, pending appeal, in this case. The judgment as you will recall was 83. 3 million, usually a defendant has to post more than 100 of that to obtain the 630 necessary to protect the person who won as the case goes through appeal. Its not officially a state of the Union Address you have to be a year in office for that, but it will be like one. Told that National Security adviser Michael Flynn was susceptible to blackmail by russia. That warning was issued by acting Attorney General sally yates, who told White House Counsel Don Mcgahn that flynn was vulnerable because he misled the Vice President and others about the nature of his conversation with Russian Ambassador sergey kislyak. Despite her warning, President Trump chose to keep flynn on the job as top National Security post for 18 more days, according to the report. Muellers goal in part is to determine whether there was a deliberate effort to cover up the information that yates had provided the white house. As nbc reports, multiple sources say that during interviews, muellers investigators have asked witnesses, including White House Counsel Don Mcgahn himself and others who have worked in the west wing to go through each day that flynn remained as National Security adviser and describe in detail what they knew was happening inside the white house as it related to flynn.
