IRELAND needs to adopt New Zealand s strategy in order to avoid going in and out of lockdowns until 2022, a top scientist has said.
Professor James McInerney, Head of the School of Life Sciences at the University of Nottingham, suggested closing the borders in order to drive the Covid-19 rate down to zero.

Prof McInerney told how people moving from one place to another is a major cause of the spread of Covid-19.
He noted that Ireland was able to drive virus rates down in July but now needs to implement a zero Covid policy.
