Sri Lanka : Galagedara, Padukka isolated due to Corona death, Kosgama released from isolation

Wed, Dec 30, 2020, 10:45 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka. Dec 30, Colombo: The Galagedara East Grama Niladhari Division in Padukka has been designated as an isolated area from today. A man in the area had died at home on the 24th December and a subsequent PCR test has identified him as a COVID-19 infected. His body was taken to the Avissawella Hospital. PCR tests conducted on 40 people who have visited his home on the news of his demise, have confirmed that 26 were infected with COVID-19. Thereafter, steps were taken to isolate the Galagedara area in Padukka. Meanwhile, the Head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) General announced that the isolation imposed on the Kosgama police area has been lifted with immediate effect.

Dec 24, Colombo: Head of the National Operations Center for the Prevention of the Spread of COVID-19, Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva has informed that the Laksanda Sevana Housing Scheme in the Wellampitiya Police Division in the Colombo District has been lifted from isolation from 6.00 am today (24th December). It has also been decided to isolate the Trincomalee Abhayapura Grama Niladhari Division and the Dinanagar area from 6.00 am Thursday (24). Sri Lanka : Duration of quarantine for persons arriving from abroad to be reduced

Dec 10, Colombo: The Head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva stated that it has been decided to reduce the number of quarantine days from 28 to 14 after the arrival of persons from overseas and the Director General of Health Services will issue a statement in this regard today. According to the Army Commander, according to the new quarantining method if a repatriated person tests negative to the PCR test after 14-day mandatory quarantine, they will no longer be required to quarantine for another 14 days at the homes.
