Faculty Chair Nicholas Burns will moderate this discussion.Lord Peter Ricketts was a Fisher Family Fellow (in residence in April 2018) and a life peer in the House of Lords in the United Kingdom. Lord Peter has spent 40 years as a member of the Diplomatic Service. His final post was Ambassador in Paris (2012-2016). Before that he was the UK’s first National Security Adviser (2010-2012), and in that role was the coordinator of the 2010 National Security Strategy and Strategic Defence and Security Review.

Dr Rob Dixon
Biography
Dr Rob Dixon was appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Bulgaria in March 2020 and took up his post in September 2020.
Before his appointment in Sofia, Rob was Deputy Director for Africa in the FCO between 2016 and 2020, focusing on West Africa. He was previously Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Israel, 2012-2016, and between 2010 and 2012 he was the Private Secretary to the UK National Security Adviser, having previously served as Private Secretary to the Head of the Diplomatic Service. Rob’s first overseas posting was to the UK Mission to the UN in Geneva, where he worked on human right issues.
Tamsin Heath
Biography
Tamsin Heath is currently the Acting British Consul General to Hong Kong and Macao. She assumed the role in December 2020, following the retirement of Andrew Heyn. The new Consul General is expected to arrive in summer 2021.
She arrived in Hong Kong in August 2019 as Deputy Consul General. Tamsin joined the Diplomatic Service in 2005 as a diplomatic service economist working on economic issues, and as the economist in the Iraq Policy Unit from 2006 to 2007. Her first posting was as 2nd Secretary Economic and Trade Policy in Beijing, working on the UK/China Economic and Financial Dialogue, as well as intellectual property issues.
