white house reports say they won t get to 3% of the president from us after this legislation. it doesn t just come down to numbers. as you know, voters don t always get up in the actual numbers. it s how they feel. harris: right now they are saying they feel good. leslie: do they get that tax refund? equal or higher than what it was? do they have to pay taxes or get nothing back? again, how do they feel? remember, when you look at the economy, within the eval don mcgahn bill of health care which is very big issue, as he saw in the exit polls after the midterm election, to voters from both sides of the aisle. i think were for the midterms, quite frankly, republicans didn t tout the economic success of their party. the present is doing well with manufacturing. harris: just a follow-up grow quickly and forgive me for cutting i m just curioust these are the issues? don t they roll out at least one of them question rick hey, this is the health care new deal. where s that? le
she said something so eloquent yesterday, she said, a lot of people can t fight back. she s got support, a big platform. a pulpit herself. but she points to those who cannot. that s who she advocates for in all this. john mccain served in our nation s military. he was taken by forces in vietnam, in october 1967. he was tortured and suffered lifelong disabilities from that. until 1973. just a little background. leslie: i m a liberal democrat and a senator mccain and i disagreed on probably 99% of the issues politically. i ve seen so many documentaries on people that survived that a p.o.w. camp because of senator john mccain. he was the leader that helped those people through holes in the wall and little games that they played if they had a piece of mirror that they could communicate with. he is a hero. i just it bothers me.
there were very different opinions. it s not necessarily hatred. lisa: but you are downplaying the risk going on. it s a bigger risk. we sat player with the women s march as well as the dnc separating themselves from the women s march with people we have seen more democrats come out and expressed disappointment with the party, as well. congressman ted deutch took to the floor criticizing his party for not being able to singularly condemn omar s anti-semitic remarks. leslie: what kind of condemnation would be sufficient, whether to democrats or people that just don t hate her? does it have to be legislated? lisa: have an answer to that. it would be what representative deutsch wanted, resolution, to singularly condemn omar s comments. harris: they could have done two resolutions. leslie: and said they watered it down to take the heat off of her and made it more bro.
would lend donna quinn in a landslide, predicting the amount of electoral votes that his landslide. it will conduct to the economy, particularly the rust belt states again. that will be his path to victory. what do democrat student response? the introduce and endorse a green new deal, which would be absolutely devastating to these rust belt states economies. also as an issue, if you look of the things people care about, it s at the bottom. nobody cares about climate change. they care about paying their electricity bills and putting food on the table. that s the democrat response. good luck winning 2020 from democratic candidates if you hang your hat s on things like the green new deal. he won leslie, what do democrats do when they get to those states? after think that unlike other clinton they have learned some lessons along the way. what is their message going to be on the economy? lisa: when you look at the midterm election, the economy was really strong. it s been slowing down rec
kennedy: i think unfortunately that george conway has forced this fight. he has made it as personal as he can, and he knows if he accuses the president of not having a mental illness the president will respond and respond forcefully. kellyanne conway went on tv and said the president the husband, rather, had already asked her to leave the administration. he want her to quit her job and she said no. that obviously has created an uncomfortable dynamic. but shame on him for forcing that dynamic into the public and the most publicly possible, that he knows is going to have this exact results. lisa: leslie, you re married. i m sure you have some thoughts on this. [laughter] leslie: like you said, put yourself in the situation. my husband, like yours, harris, wouldn t put me in that position. i have to say, i would defend my husband over my boss. although the kitchen table conversation would be quite different than the public conversation in the media.
