3 weather systems to bring rain showers across PH Thursday

MANILA - Three weather systems affecting the country will continue to dampen most parts of the archipelago Thursday, the weather bureau said. Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the low pressure area (LPA), last tracked over the Sulu Sea and 255 kilometers south-southwest of Puerto Princesa City, would bring cloudy skies and rains across the country. However, the LPA has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. The shear line is also affecting most of the Visayas, bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Both the LPA and the shear line will dampen the Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan. Flash floods or landslides are likely during moderate to heavy rains. Aurelio said the northeast monsoon or amihan is affecting most of Luzon and will bring light rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the Bicol Region, the rest of Mimaropa, Aurora, and Quezon. Shear line brings rains over E Visayas, N Mindanao, Caraga

MANILA - There is a rising possibility for flash floods and landslides in the Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga, the weather bureau said. Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Ana Clauren said rains from the shear line can trigger such dangerous events in those areas. "Shear lines can affect the areas in the next four days," she said Monday. PAGASA said either flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Clauren said the shear line will soon begin affecting Mindanao to a lesser degree. (PNA) }
