Juneteenth Concert with Da'Ja The Farmington Hills Department of Special Services is proud to present a Juneteenth performance featuring Detroit-based jazz band, Da’Ja. This concert is presented with support from Mercedez Benz Financial Services.
Ray Ureña Ray Ureña is not only a talented guitarist, but a multi-instrumentalist whose career span includes touring, playing festivals, film scoring, and electronic music production. Though his music education is rooted and jazz, his work as a guitar sideman has landed many gigs opening for Bare Naked Ladies, Eddie Money, The Spin Doctors, Everclear, Robert Bradley, and Kid Rock.
Detroit Retro Society The top-tier Detroit music revue, Detroit Retro Society, performs the music that makes Motown so special. Musicians in the Detroit Retro Society have shared the stage with everyone from classic acts like The Temptations, Parliament Funkadelic, Foreigner and Aretha Franklin to modern acts like Sturgill Simpson, Kid Rock, and Griz. Lunar New Year Concert with Xiao Dong Wei At the age of 11, she was accepted into the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Ten years later she earned her degree, becoming "Master of the Erhu". A 2012 Kresge Artist, she has appeared as a soloist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. She has been featured on National Public Radio and has produced multiple critically-acclaimed albums. Xiao Dong Wei is a lecturer at the University of Michigan and her music can be heard all around the world.
