NWS: Fire warnings return after unusually cold month in central Wyoming

CASPER, Wyo. – After one of the coldest Februarys in decades, March is heading the opposite direction with significantly warmer temperatures. According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, Natrona and Johnson Counties will be facing elevated fire risks by the weekend as dry and warm weather continues. Gusty winds by late week are also expected.
The NWS is predicting high temperatures in the 50s through the week in Natrona County, with a high of 61 degrees by Saturday in Casper. Blustery winds will also be common, picking up by Saturday with gusts nearing 50 mph.
