SHAH ALAM: A former senior principal assistant secretary of a ministry pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here Thursday to two counts of accepting bribes totalling RM100,000 in connection with the issuance of tender for biofertiliser supply and delivery to a company, last year.
Shahrulzaman Jaafar, 43, who was then attached at the Agriculture and Agro-based Ministry (MOA), made the plea after the charges were read out to him before Judge Rihaida Rafie.
According to the first charge, Shahrulzaman, who is currently suspended from his duty, is accused of accepting bribes amounting to RM70,000 from Hazrul Hisyam Hassan, 46.

It was an inducement for helping Hazrul Hisyam secure a tender to supply and deliver biofertiliser under the Production Incentive Scheme to KIIK Resources Sdn Bhd totalling RM37,478,572.55 by the roadside near Serdang Hospital between 11am and noon on May 12, 2020.

Shahrulzaman Jaafar, 43, a former senior principal assistant secretary with the Agriculture and Agro-based Ministry, is accused of accepting bribes amounting to RM100,000.
He allegedly accepted the bribes on two occasions last year as an inducement related to the issuance of tender to a company for the supply and delivery of biofertiliser.
Under the first charge, Shahrulzaman is accused of accepting RM70,000 from one Hazrul Hisyam Hassan.
The money was allegedly a bribe to aid Hazrul Hisyam in securing a tender to supply and deliver biofertiliser valued at RM37,478,572 under the Production Incentive Scheme to KIIK Resources Sdn Bhd.

Shahrulzaman Jaafar, 43, who is currently the director of the southern region campus of the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), however, pleaded not guilty on all charges.
Shahrulzaman, who was then attached at the Agriculture and Agro-based Ministry (MOA), was first charged with soliciting RM2 million bribe from one Wan Nor Izham Wan Nashar as an inducement to help the man secure the supply and delivery tender of biofertiliser under the Production Incentive Scheme for three companies - Endona Corporation Sdn Bhd, Qamari Consultancy Sdn Bhd and Borneo Natura Sdn Bhd - totalling RM118,165,171.65 at a restaurant in Jalan Berjasa h
KUALA LUMPUR: A former senior assistant secretary to a ministry was charged at the Sessions Court here over three counts of soliciting and receiving bribes involving a contract for the supply and delivery of biofertilisers to companies.
Shahrulzaman Jaafar, 43, who is now a director at the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan) southern campus, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday (Jan 12) after the charges were read out before Judge Azura Alwi.
According to the first charge, the accused, who was at that time attached to the Agriculture Ministry, had solicited a RM2mil bribe from Wan Nor Izham Wan Nashar as a reward to help the latter to win a tender worth RM118,165,171.65 for the supply and delivery of biofertilisers to local companies, Endona Corporation Sdn Bhd, Qamari Consultancy Sdn Bhd and Borneo Natura Sdn Bhd.
