As Muslims bowed down during the early morning ‘fajr’ congregational prayers in the historic mosque in Kufa, southern Iraq, an assassin armed with a poison-dipped sword rose and struck Hazrat Ali (a.s.), the son-in-law and cousin of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the fourth caliph of Islam.
‘Fuztu bey Rab’il Kaaba’ [By the Lord of ‘Kaaba’, I have succeeded] proclaimed Hazrat Ali (a.s.) as blood oozed from his fatal wound. Members of the prayer congregation that he was leading gathered around him while Abdul Rehman ibn e Muljim, the assassin, was arrested.

DIG Iqbal Dara, chief of the Karachi Traffic Police, on Wednesday issued a traffic security plan for the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA). The spokesman for the traffic police said that on 21st Ramazan, 1442, i.e. May 4, 2021, a procession in connection with the Shahadat Day of Hazrat Ali (RA) will be taken out from the Nishtar Park to the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
It will be mandatory to get stickers to be displayed on the windscreens of vehicles. The law enforcement agencies, district administration, ambulances and media organisations will submit their applications for stickers from April 29 to May 2, 2021, in the office of the DIG Traffic (Traffic Security Branch), Police Headquarters Garden, Aga Khan-III Road, Karachi, and obtain stickers on May 3 between 10am and 4pm.

Karachi traffic police chief DIG Iqbal Dara has issued a traffic diversion plan for Youm-e-Wiladat Hazrat Ali (RA).
In a statement, issued by the traffic police on Thursday, said that on 13th Rajab, 1442, A.H. i.e. February 26, 202, a procession will start from Ghafoor Chamber at 4pm and terminate at the Mehfil-e-Shah-e-Khurasan after passing through different streets and roads. The route includes Abdullah Haroon Road, Sharea Iraq, Zaib-un-Nisa Street, Aga Khan Road, MA Jinnah Road and Father Jamnis Road.
On Bahadur Yar Tang Road, all kinds of traffic coming from Guru Mandir, Soldier Bazaar No.3 signal and Soldier Bazaar No.2 signal will be diverted from Soldier Bazaar No.1 signal to the Coast Guards and Ankle Seria signal to reach their destinations.
