Stricter visiting restrictions at Wirral hospitals

Stricter visiting restrictions at Wirral hospitals over Christmas STRICTER visiting restrictions will remain in place at Wirral University Teaching Hospital over the Christmas and New Year period to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading. The measures - affecting Arrowe Park Hospital, Clatterbridge Hospital and Wirral Women and Children’s Hospital - will remain in place until further notice. As the risk of transmission of COVID-19 is still high, people are urged to remain cautious this Christmas and follow national guidance on regularly cleaning hands, wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing. Hazel Richards, Chief Nurse at Wirral University Teaching Hospital, said: We realise it is a very difficult time for people who have loved ones in hospital at this time of year, however it is extremely important that we keep our patients as safe as possible and that must be our top priority.

Directing staff to national health and wellbeing resources Staff are the heart of our organisation; you have ensured the NHS was not overwhelmed in the initial peak – often at great personal cost, and continue to provide excellent and compassionate care to patients and their families. It is our responsibility to care for you, and to ensure that you are more than OK. Hazel Richards; Chief Nurse, Executive Director for Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals, Director of Infection Prevention and Control said: “We are pleased to sign up to the Nursing Times campaign, which very much aligns with our own emphasis at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals on health and wellbeing, especially during the pandemic.
