JOHNS CREEK, Ga. â A stick-up man attempted to rob the Renasant Bank along Haynes Bridge Road late the morning of April 8. Police responded after one of the bank tellers activated the panic alarm.
The teller told officers a tall man wearing a gray hoodie and gaiter-style mask approached her counter to make a withdrawal. During the supposed transaction, the suspect passed the teller a note demanding money. The note made no mention of a weapon, and the suspect never displayed one, according to police.
When the teller told the man she didnât have any money to give him, he grabbed his note and left. Police issued a bulletin but were not able to identify the alleged robber.
The popular event, now in its 18
th year, regularly draws thousands to downtown and will run every Saturday through Nov. 27 with approximately 90 vendors.
âWe decided to add several weeks to the market this year after requests from vendors who wanted an extended season and customers who want to shop the market through the fall,â said Taylor Yurgalevicz, Farmers Market manager. âOur focus this year is more on the farmers who will provide produce, meat, plants, and flowers. Customers will see many of their favorites back, but weâre limiting the number of vendors in each category so we can provide a broader range of goods. This also allows us to offer more locally grown and sourced farm fresh items and homemade food.â
