How lovely are your branches: Christmas trees ready for Botwell pupils to plant CHILDREN in Hayes are being encouraged to celebrate Christmas in a more sustainable way this year. Barratt London, which is developing the 1,300-home Hayes Village site in Nestles Avenue, has donated 120 re-plantable Christmas tree saplings to Botwell RC Primary School. Pupils were able to take them home to plant and grow so they can be enjoyed for years to come. Head teacher Kevin Oakley said: “As a school we always like to engage in activity which encourages pupils to think more sustainably and this is an especially important message at Christmas.”
