Nursing Times has been told.
Almost a year on from then, the hospice is once again appealing for nine more nurses to join the team to meet a doubling in demand in its catchment area.
Children’s nurse and head of specialist care and nursing at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, Elisha Lewis (pictured above), stressed to
Nursing Times that the “quicker we recruit, the more children we can see”.
Previously, the nursing team thought there were around 1,000 babies, children and young people within their catchment area who had life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
However, data from 2020 suggests there are now more than 2,400.
