For city snow plow drivers, its been an endless job of removing 564622 it takes a lot of people to get it done and not a lot of time des moines public works crews are targeting the major roads first. Then moving to the residential side streets. For the second time this season crews are putting a new snow plow tactic to the test. Its called the wing formation. Up to five plows clear the street at the same time in one pass. Last night the city laid down a salt brine solution to help improve road conditions. And the public works director says despite the colder temperatures, the salt is working exactly like it should. 540123 weve got a layer of salt brine down on all of the snow routes on dry pavement now there is layer of salt under the snow.
