KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet on Tuesday decided to resolve the pension issues of the retired employees of all government departments immediately.
A meeting of the cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, was held here at the New Sindh Secretariat. The meeting was attended by all provincial ministers, advisers, chief secretary and secretaries concerned.
“An employee who retires from his/her service must be given their pension and dues in time,” the CM said, adding that metropolitan and municipal corporations and others had failed to develop a mechanism for payment of pensions due to which retired employees had been running from pillar to post for their legitimate right.

He took this decision while presiding over a cabinet meeting here at New Sindh Secretariat on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by all the provincial ministers, senior advisor, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, Chairman P and D Mohammad Waseem and concerned secretaries.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed all the departments, particularly the local bodies authorities, different boards and semi- government organisations to resolve the pension issues of their employees and report to him.
He took this decision while presiding over a cabinet meeting at New Sindh Secretariat on Tuesday. All the provincial ministers, senior advisers, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, Chairman P&D Mohammad Waseem and secretaries concerned attended the meeting.
The chief minister was told that there were pension issues of local bodies employees. âAn employee who retires from his/her service must be given their pension and dues in time,â he said.

Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to reserve 3,000 acres of forest land in Thatta District near the coastal belt of the province for the plantation of oil palm trees.
The decision to this effect was reached at the meeting of Sindh Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
The cabinet meeting was informed that the indigenous production of the edible oil would be highly beneficial for the economy of the country. Every year Pakistan spends $3.150 billion to import 4.50 million tonnes of edible oil for its cooking needs. Bringing palm oil from the Southeast Asian countries is the second highest expense for the Pakistani economy after the import of petroleum products.
