DCCA NEWS RELEASE: Hawaii Joins Multistate Group Providing ACA Policy Recommendations to President-elect Biden

HONOLULU Hawaii Insurance Commissioner Colin Hayashida joined a group of the nation’s state insurance commissioners in a pledge to work with President-elect Joe Biden by providing health policy recommendations to the incoming administration.
The commissioners share President-elect Biden’s vision that no American should have to go without health care coverage. They believe comprehensive and progressive health care is essential to addressing urgent public health priorities, such as the COVID-19 and opioid crises, addressing racial disparities in the health care system, and ensuring enforcement of mental health parity.

DCCA INSURANCE DIVISION NEWS RELEASE: Hawaii Affordable Care Act 2021 Open Enrollment Deadline Approaching

HONOLULU The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Insurance Division reminds consumers of the approaching deadline for the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) 2021 plan year open enrollment period and urges individuals not to delay. Individual health insurance plans must be selected by December 15, 2020 to have coverage for 2021. Individuals purchasing plans through the Marketplace may be eligible for lower monthly premiums through subsidies, which consumers can estimate at www.HealthCare.gov.
