We did speak with the Haverhill Fire chief. He tells us the report came from a woman in an apartment complex near the bridge where this baby was supposedly thrown from. She heard a baby crying, looked over and saw a man toss the baby into the river. We got a call about an hour and 15 minutes ago, a little past 8 00, that someone had thrown a baby off the bridge into the water. So we started a search and a couple boats in the water. Its dark. Visibility is not very good. You can only see about a foot and a half beneath the surface searchers saying its a very upsetting time, whether its christmas or anytime to be searching for a babys body.
